Promessas? Leva-as o vento.

Eu bem tentei divulgar uma foto por semana como recomendado no livro “The passionate photographer” de Steve Simon. Bem tentei! Ainda aldrabei as datas da publicação para ir publicando no calendário a cada semana na esperança de mais à frente compensar publicando mais que uma foto por semana, mas é óbvio que se demonstrou impossível cumprir. Acho que não seria muito complicado cumprir com o que é simplesmente sugerido pelo livro, isto é,  publicar uma foto por semana.Mas nunca foi exactamente isso que quis. If the person looking at these pictures only feels compassion, I will believe that I have failed completely. I want people to understand that we can have a solution.

Very few of the persons photographed are responsible for the situation that they are now in. Most of them don’t understand why they are on the road with thousands of others. They lost their houses at the end of the last brick, because they were bombed, fired, destroyed, and they are in the road and they don’t understand why.

They are not the reason for their being there; it is other things. And about these other things we have to choose.

No livro “Lost City of the Incas, the story of Machu Picchu and its builders” (Phoenix,  reedição de 2011) Hiram Bingham III escreveu: would anyone believe what I had found? Fortunately, in this land where accuracy of reporting what one had seen is not a prevailing characteristic of travellers, I had a good camera and the sun was shining.
